Forward Bobby McMann wasted no time showing his value to the Seattle Kraken, delivering a standout performance in his first game with the team during a 5–2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks. McMann recorded two goals and an assist, helping Seattle end a four-game losing streak.

The winger had been unable to play immediately after being acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs at the trade deadline, as visa paperwork forced him to miss several games before joining the lineup.

Strong Debut on Seattle’s Top Line

Seattle placed McMann on its top line alongside Matty Beniers and Jordan Eberle, and the trio immediately produced results. Beniers contributed a goal and two assists, while Eberle registered three helpers.

The Kraken opened the scoring early in the first period when Jared McCann snapped a 10-game goal drought. The Canucks responded later in the period when Evander Kane finished a breakaway to tie the game.

McMann Breaks the Tie

Late in the opening period, McMann put Seattle ahead on the power play with a wrist shot that slipped past Vancouver goalie Nikita Tolopilo. The goal restored the Kraken’s lead and set the tone for the rest of the night.

Seattle extended its advantage in the second period when defenseman Jamie Oleksiak joined the rush and scored from the slot.

Kraken Pull Away in the Third

McMann added his second goal early in the third period, finishing a quick passing play from Beniers and Eberle to push Seattle ahead 4–1. Beniers later scored as well, further increasing the lead.

The Canucks got a late goal from Marco Rossi, but it wasn’t enough to threaten Seattle’s control of the game.

Playoff Push Continues

Seattle’s win kept them within striking distance in the race for a Western Conference wild-card playoff spot. Goaltender Philipp Grubauer also played a key role, stopping 32 shots to secure the victory.

For McMann, the performance served as a perfect introduction to his new team. After waiting for eligibility clearance following the trade, he quickly demonstrated why Seattle targeted him as a mid-season addition.
