Michael Pezzetta on paying Canadian taxes
Although he might be earning one of the highest salaries, a professional hockey player was complaining about his take-home pay this week.
During an interview on Tuesday’s Cam and Strick Podcast, Montreal Canadiens forward Michael Pezzetta expressed his frustration about taxes.”I remember my first year [in the NHL]…you get that first paycheck and you’re like, ‘Oh my God, where’s all the money?'” he laughed. In Pezzetta’s first season in the National Hockey League in 2021-22, his annual salary was the league minimum of USD $750,000, or roughly CAD $975,000.
