Check out: Potential top draft pick Macklin Celebrini takes on the VO2 Max Bike test at the NHL draft combine
Top prospect Macklin Celebrini showcased his conditioning at the 2024 NHL scouting combine in Buffalo on Friday. He participated in the challenging VO2 Max Bike test, observed by NHL scouts and media.
Expected to be the number one overall pick, Celebrini completed the demanding cardio exercise, which assesses a player’s maximum oxygen uptake and endurance limit. Remarkably, at 17, he is the youngest player to ever participate in the combine.
Celebrini had an outstanding freshman season at Boston University, capturing the Hobey Baker Award as the top men’s hockey player in the NCAA. He recorded 32 goals and 32 assists, totaling 64 points in just 38 games, showcasing his exceptional scoring talent and strong two-way play at a very young age.
Joining Celebrini, other notable prospects like Artyom Levshunov from Michigan State and Zeev Buium from the University of Denver also participated in the combine, highlighting the skill and potential of this draft class.
With the 2024 NHL draft approaching, all eyes are on the San Jose Sharks and their decision with the No. 1 overall pick.
